A Message from Our President

I am honored to be able to lead as President for our members of the National Real Time Crime Center Association. Since inception our vision of this association is to be a vehicle that our members can use to help them develop or enhance their Real Time Centers at their agencies.

Our board is very committed to help our members and to grow our profession. Our four focus areas are: Development, Innovation, Collaboration and Education (DICE).

The Real Time Center Profession is a team sport. It takes many players which include: our members, our sponsors and partners, and most of the all the communities we serve. With everyone’s participation we can work together to make city by city throughout the country the safest they have ever been.

Thank you for your support and involvement with our association.

rtcc cENTER OF THE MONTH

The National Real Time Crime Center Association is pleased to announce the Arlington (TX)

Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center is the recipient of this month’s Real Time Crime

Center of the Month award.

Arlington proudly started a Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program that is integrated into

their real time policing strategy. This program received their Beyond Visual Line of Site (BVLOS)

waivers from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), allowing them to fly without a traditional

visual observer.

This DFR program augments Arlington’s traditional aviation program and is intended to increase

efficiency and safety of first responders. The drones respond to areas up to 1.5 miles from the

docking station and fly near 50 miles per hour to the location of the event.

Arlington Police Department aims to provide a faster response to critical calls for service while

sharing vital information to officers for safer outcomes.
